Ireland Engagement Session at White Park Bay

The moment I landed in Ireland, I knew this land would change me.

I struggled, and still do, to find the words to describe just how beautiful it is. Northern Ireland especially just feels untouched by time. The only word that comes close for me is pure. It’s just a pure land, so fresh and open. It feels like what I imagine it must feel like to take a deep breath after leaving a burning building. Like the freshest, life affirming air you’ve ever breathed.

And let me clear - I’m a romanticizer! I live for rolling hills and wide open skies, and will embody Julie Andrews and the Sound of Music in a heartbeat. But there’s no exaggerating the beauty of Ireland. It’s truly a place you need to experience to understand.

This trip to Ireland was to photograph a wedding at Dunluce Castle, but I’m SO happy I was able to sneak in some time to capture TJ and Aaron at White Park Bay. They are incredibly talented videographers over at Found Home Films, and I think that understanding of movement and connection absolutely shows in the emotion of their photos. As with all land in Ireland, the bay is so diverse and lush. Rolling hills surrounded by a sprawling beach, and such a short walk to both! We started on grassy fields surrounding the bay, and watched the rain clouds roll in. As diverse as the land is, the weather is varied! It rained at the beginning of our time together and switched in moments to such intense sunshine! But with such beautiful sun came the most vivid rainbow I think I’ve ever seen. I can’t tell you how full my cup was walking along the beach next to this sweet couple and a rainbow from coast to coast.

I’m so proud of what we created here and so eager to head back! I feel as though Ireland welcomed me with open arms, and part of my heart will always remain there in those hills.
